| No Bull: Buffalo Wings & Rings Back With
Sheltra Motorsports
“Duo Reunites In Time For Anniversary Win At Historic
Salem Speedway”
MOORESVILLE, North Carolina (March 26, 2010) - - Officials
from Sheltra Motorsports and Buffalo Wings & Rings jointly
announced today that the Cincinnati, Ohio corporation will
return as a marketing partner for four upcoming ARCA Racing
Series (ARS) presented by RE/MAX and Menards events beginning
with the next ARCA event at Salem (Ind.) Speedway on Sunday,
April 11.
The reunion takes shape perfectly as driver Patrick Sheltra,
the 23-year old ARCA pro returns to the half-mile bullring
next month as the defending champion of the Kentuckiana
Ford Dealers 200 presented by ApplianceZone.com. Buffalo
Wings & Rings (BWR) debuted as a marketing partner with
Sheltra Motorsports last April at Salem and watched Sheltra
soar to his first career victory just two months after recovering
from a near-career ending incident in the season-opener
at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway.
Known for its “Great Food; No Bull!” campaign,
Buffalo Wings & Rings is the fastest-growing privately
owned franchised chain of restaurants in the nation serving
Buffalo-style chicken wings, onion rings, burgers, gyros,
wraps and salads. And the only wing establishment in the
country with a unique saucing system, customers of BWR get
to choose from 45 different sauce combinations. Founded
in 1984 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Buffalo Wings & Rings operates
56 franchised restaurants in the United States. Buffalo
Wings & Rings was ranked the No. 1 fastest growing restaurant
chain nationwide in the July 2008 issue of Restaurant Business,
and ranked in the top 500 franchises in the January 2009
issue of Entrepreneur.
In addition to holding the title marketing partnership
rights for Salem Speedway, Buffalo Wings & Rings will
hold the same spotlight for the Talladega ARCA 250 at Talladega
(Ala.) Speedway on April 23 while serving as a associate
marketing partner for Texas Motor Speedway (April 16) and
Toledo (Ohio) Speedway (May 23). Following the four events,
representatives from both sides are hopeful for a continuing
relationship that covers the team’s No. 60 entries
until the season-ending event at Rockingham (N.C.) Speedway
in October.
“I’m excited to be back driving the No. 60
Buffalo Wings & Rings Dodge,” said Sheltra, who
will enter the Salem event fourth in points after two-consecutive
top-10 finishes thus far in 2010. “We valued and cherished
the relationship we had with them last year and we are just
thankful to put something together for these four races
and hopefully beyond. The car will look a little different
from last year, so hopefully they will be happy with the
surprise we have for them.”
“We are happy to make this announcement with Sheltra
Motorsports and Patrick,” commented Charlie Francus,
Marketing Manager for Buffalo Wings & Rings. “The
team exceeds in the core values we expect in a partnership.
Our customers have become huge supporters of Patrick (Sheltra)
and the ARCA Racing Series and we look forward to continuing
to build on that relationship in 2010.”
Sheltra added, “I don’t think there is a better
place to reunite this partnership other than Salem Speedway.
Last year’s race was unforgettable. We had a good
car, the team did everything right and we were able to celebrate
with a new marketing partner in victory lane. It truly was
the perfect Cinderella story.
The place (Salem) gives me goose bumps every time I go
back. I’ve always ran well there. We’ve never
finished lower than 16th in six starts there, so I think
that’s a modest record. I know that the team is capable
of making it back-to-back victories in a couple weeks.”
Sheltra has 69 ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and
Menards starts to his credit with one career victory at
Salem Speedway (April 2009). During his ARCA tenure, Sheltra
has accumulated 11 top-fives and posted 24 top-10 finishes.
A third place qualifying effort at Rockingham Speedway (April
2009) is Sheltra’s best time trials efforts to date.
He has controlled the ARCA field five times for 109 laps.
