| Sheltra Motorsports Announces Dodge ARCA Schedule
“Mr. Showtime Hopes To Charge To The Front In
New Manufacturer”
WHITESVILLE, Kentucky (April 3, 2008) - - Sheltra Motorsports,
a professional three-tier Motorsports operation announced
today it’s plan to run a Dodge Charger in a minimum
of 10 ARCA RE/MAX Series events this season beginning with
the fourth race of the season at Kansas Speedway on Friday,
April 25, 2008.
In addition to the new nameplate, Sheltra Motorsports also
unveiled a new paint scheme bringing a unique camouflage
look to the ARCA scene.
Starting with Kansas Speedway later this month, Sheltra
Motorsports and driver Patrick Sheltra plan to run the Dodge
emblem in nine other events consisting of Kentucky Speedway
(May and July), Pocono Raceway (June and August), Michigan
International Speedway (June), Nashville Superspeedway (August),
Illinois State Fairgrounds (August), DuQuoin State Fairgrounds
(September) and Chicagoland Speedway (September).
During the off-season, Sheltra Motorsports purchased three
Dodge Chargers from North Carolina’s Penske Racing
while also transforming one of the team’s Chevrolet
Monte Carlo SS to a Dodge Charger.
RC Consultants, a longtime engine builder in ARCA competition
has partnered with the Whitesville, Kentucky based operation
to provide the horsepower for the season. In the past, RC
Consultants has provided engines for nine-time ARCA RE/MAX
Series champion Frank Kimmel, Jason Jarrett (ML Motorsports)
and Matt Hagans. RC Consultants powered Jason Jarrett to
his first career ARCA victory in the sanction’s inaugural
debut at Kansas Speedway in 2001.
“I’m very excited about running a Dodge Charger
this year in ARCA competition,” said Sheltra, who
will make his 29th career ARCA start when he takes the green
flag in a Dodge at Kansas Speedway. “The Dodges have
been very competitive in the ARCA RE/MAX Series over the
past few years; which led us in their direction. We are
convinced that their track record will continue to stand
this year.”
Sheltra added, “Our crew is very confident in what
we think the Chargers are capable of. They have not won
the ARCA RE/MAX Series manufacturer’s championship
the past two seasons for finishing second. We believe we
can win in a Dodge and we’re looking forward to “Grabbing
Life By The Horns.”
Car Owner Grace Sheltra offered, “When the opportunity
was presented to us to expand our fleet to include Dodges,
we could not turn it down. Dodge has enjoyed a healthy amount
of success in the ARCA RE/MAX Series and we’re looking
for the same type of results at Sheltra Motorsports. We’re
very happy with the equipment we’ve acquired and our
affiliation with RC Consultants speaks for itself. We’re
looking forward to helping Dodge continue their winning
tradition in ARCA this year.”
Before tackling the Kansas Lottery $150 Grand on Friday,
April 25, Sheltra Motorsports will participate in two ARCA
RE/MAX Series open tests at Kansas Speedway and Kentucky
Speedway (April 15) utilizing Dodge Charger(s).
Sheltra Motorsports, currently competing in their second
full season of ARCA competition will sport the Chevrolet
bowtie and its Monte Carlo SS model when not running under
the Chrysler banner.
