| Patrick Sheltra: Viva Las Vegas
“Mr. Showtime Experiencing Sin-City For
The First Time”
LAS VEGAS, Nevada (June 8, 2009) - - On the strength of
a powerful third place finish last Saturday afternoon at
Pocono Raceway, ARCA RE/MAX Series veteran driver Patrick
Sheltra hopped on a plane Sunday morning and headed West
to Las Vegas, Nevada to attend a two-day conference for
his newest marketing partner, Buffalo Wings & Rings.
Sheltra, who took the Cincinnati, Ohio based company to
victory lane in April at Salem Speedway spent Monday introducing
himself to members of the advisory board before preparing
for his big meeting on Tuesday afternoon which will include
meeting several Buffalo Wings & Rings franchisees representatives
while also discussing his racing background, his Sheltra
Motorsports team and his relationship with Buffalo Wings
& Rings thus far.
The company’s annual meeting is headlined “Driving
To Success” based upon their involvement with Sheltra
and his Whitesville, Kentucky based Sheltra Motorsports
team.
The partnership with Sheltra signifies the first time that
the No. 1 ranked fastest growing restaurant chain in the
United States has partaken in a series that has national
media and television exposure.
The meetings are being held at the MGM Grand Hotel &
Casino. Sheltra himself is visiting “Sin-City”
for the first time and is also staying at the MGM Grand
Hotel & Casino.
“I am enjoying my time out here in Las Vegas,”
said Sheltra, who will leave Las Vegas on Wednesday morning
and head to Michigan to prepare for Friday’s Racing
for Wildlife 200 at Michigan International Speedway (MIS).
“It’s been great to meet a lot of new people
from Buffalo Wings & Rings. The overwhelming response
from everyone on the racing program has been nothing but
positive, so I’m psyched.”
“It meant a lot to me and this team to have Buffalo
Wings & Rings join our team. They are a growing company,
just like we are a growing team. This partnership is a two-way
street and we’re taking advantage of these meetings
to make sure we’re bringing everything we can to the
table for them. What’s even better is that they are
offering their input on how we can make them look even better
at the racetrack. A lot of good ideas have been discussed.
I’m looking forward to putting those ideas in motion
as the season moves forward.”
The trip to Las Vegas is the middle of nearly a two-week
stretch for Patrick Sheltra on the road. After attending
the Pocono Raceway festivities last weekend, Sheltra now
is enjoying the luxurious life of Nevada before refocusing
on racing Thursday and Friday at MIS. From there, Sheltra
will head to Kentucky where he will spend the weekend with
his Sheltra Motorsports team before getting back on the
road to head to Mansfield, Ohio for a test at Mansfield
Motorsports Park on Monday, June 15.
Sheltra has 53 ARCA RE/MAX Series starts to his credit
with one career victory at Salem Speedway (April 2009).
Sheltra also holds second place efforts at Rockingham Speedway
(April 2009), Toledo Speedway (May 2008) and the DuQuoin
State Fairgrounds (September 2008) with five additional
top-five finishes, (third) at Pocono Raceway (June 2009),
(fourth) at Toledo Speedway (October 2008), (fifth) at Talladega
Superspeedway (October 2008), (third) at Illinois State
Fairgrounds (August 2007) and (fourth) at Berlin Raceway
(July 2007) while holding additional top-10s at Kentucky
Speedway (May 2009), Nashville Superspeedway (August 2008),
Michigan International Speedway (June 2008), Kentucky Speedway
(May 2008), Kansas Speedway (April 2008), Iowa Speedway
(April 2008), Kentucky Speedway (June 2007), DuQuoin State
Fairgrounds (September 2007) and Toledo Speedway (October
2007). A third place qualifying effort at Rockingham Speedway
(April 2009) is Sheltra’s best time trials efforts
to date. He has controlled the ARCA field five times for
109 laps.
