| Sheltra Motorsports Reverts To Backup Machine
For Saturday's TOYOTA ARCA 150
LEBANON, Tennessee (August 8, 2008) - - Sheltra Motorsports
currently ranking ninth in the 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series championship
point standings will revert to their backup machine after
slapping the wall with the team's No. 60 Dodge Charger during
the lone practice session of the weekend Friday afternoon.
The team's back-up machine is the same car they participated
with in the open ARCA RE/MAX Series test at Nashville Superspeedway
last month. It is also the same racecar that Sheltra Motorsports
scored their last top-10 finish in June at Michigan International
Speedway.
“I’m not worried, we’ll be okay,”
said Sheltra, who will make his third career Nashville start
Saturday afternoon. “The car just took off in the
corner and into the wall I went. The damage isn’t
heavy but enough to send it to the house this weekend at
Nashville Superspeedway. We don’t have any laps on
the backup before qualifying, but it is the same piece we
tested with last month. I’m confident that the Sheltra
Motorsports bunch will have it in tip-top shame come tomorrow
morning to give us a solid starting spot.”
Sheltra’s fastest practice lap was 30th quickest
at a time of 31.031 seconds at 154.645 MPH.
Entering Nashville, Sheltra has 38 ARCA RE/MAX Series starts
to his credit with a career best finish of second at Toledo
Speedway (May 2008) with two additional top-five finishes
(third) at Illinois State Fairgrounds (August 2007), (fourth)
at Berlin Raceway (July 2007) while holding additional top-10s
at Michigan International Speedway (June 2008), Kentucky
Speedway (May 2008), Kansas Speedway (April 2008), Iowa
Speedway (April 2008), Kentucky Speedway (June 2007), DuQuoin
State Fairgrounds (September 2007) and Toledo Speedway (October
2007). An eighth place qualifying effort at Kansas Speedway
(April 2008) is Sheltra’s best time trials efforts
to date. He has controlled the ARCA field twice for 15 laps.
The TOYOTA ARCA 150 (150 miles/113 laps) is the 14th of
21 events on the 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. The 15th
ARCA event held at Nashville Superspeedway is a two-day
show. ARCA SIM Factory pole qualifying is slated to begin
at 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning. The field will take the
green flag on Saturday, August 9 shortly after 3:30 p.m.
The event will be televised live on SPEED with additional
race coverage including live timing and scoring available
online at arcaracing.com. All times are local.
